Description
Built on 1-4th April 1960, this Austin Healey 3000 MkI is an original right hand drive home market car originally specified with a heater, overdrive and MPH speedometer. The car was sold new by St Albans Motor Company on 8th June 1960 with the new owner further specifying the dealer to fit wire wheels and upgraded Michelin tyres with a grand total purchase price of £1423 8 shillings and 10 pence.
Amazingly this Healey still has the original bill of sale, hire purchase agreement, bankers orders, log book, 1960 tax disc, owners handbook, original Thor hammer, lubrication chart, schedule of repair charges leaflet, sales brochure, maintenance service voucher booklet and further paperwork from every decade since new. This great history and the presence of all original panels, the original engine, original ignition key and body plates shows that this car has been cherished since new and appears to have never fallen into a state of great repair.
The car was purchased by the current owner in 2010 following our very positive third-party inspection on the car and has only been used for fair weather enjoyment since – this is further supported from how clean the underside of the car is. Just before this the car had a top end engine rebuild including unleaded conversion. The car has covered low mileage of 71, 000 miles since new and has ben sympathetically refurbished to very nice all round usable condition.
Sold with MOT, British Motor Heritage Certificate of Authenticity, soft top, side screens, tonneau, Thor hammer and jack, original sales documents/ literature/ maintenance documents, large history file including servicing, MOTs and more.
