This car was a reliable daily driver for me over the past year and half. I only put around 5K miles on it, regularly run it on premium unleaded, and kept it as clean as possible. The B5 Avant 2. 8 Quattro is certainly a rare sight on UK roads, especially in completely un-modified condition! Whilst it’s not a show car, it’s still a very useable modern classic. Lots of low end torque and very comfortable on a long motorway journeys.
The car has to go to a new home, hopefully to further it's life as a restoration project or a workhorse. Looking for £2000, but will entertain sensible offers. Please email me to arrange a viewing: using the button below, or call the details below.
I’ve had the following work done:
Full service, wheel speed sensor replacement, windscreen, rocker cover gaskets, new breather hoses and coolant bottle/ reservoir.
I’ve been advised that the brake discs are close to needing replacement, but pads were new when I bought it, so I’d estimate 80% worn - all work fine.
I also put 4 new tyres and two refurbished alloys on in summer 2020, so these have a lot of life left in them.
The car drives great. It’s a very smooth drive, especially with cruise control locked in and the automatic transmission gliding through the gears. All the essential electrical and mechanical components are in working order, with the exception of the rear wiper.
Externally the car is equipped with 16” 5 spoke alloys on brand new rubber, with a spare 16” 5 spoke in the boot. As this is the later facelift model, the other exterior feature to note is the xenon headlights with washer function (in full working order).
The exterior of the car is in a tidy used condition. To my knowledge there is nothing missing and everyone is original. The major point, which is only visible up close is the rust bubbling at the corner of the windscreen. I had the windscreen replaced with a brand new screen by Autoglass and couldn’t see any major damage beneath. The new screen went in perfectly and is definitely weather tight.
There are a few other age related marks, a couple of minor stone chips to the bonnet and scrape to the corner of the plastic rear bumper. As is visible in the pictures, the headlights are beginning to frost up so could do with a polish, but this has no affect on their functionality.
The interior is equipped with leather seats. The passenger and driver seats are electronically adjustable and heated, all in working order. Much like the exterior, the interior is in used condition with signs of wear and tear. The steering wheel colouring is visibly warn and there is the odd scuff to the lower plastics. The LCD screen between Rev counter / speedo is near as not working. It’s a common failure, but it’s never really bothered me enough to get it replaced.
There is cruise control, the original Audi concert concert stereo system, climate control and air conditioning, electric sunroof and electric windows all round. Other features of note are the interior wooden trim and remote central locking.
