The Vauxhall Astra ‘Linea Rossa’ 1. 8 16 Valve was a very special Limited Edition version of the fabulous Astra Convertible built by Bertone. Finished in the classic Rossa Red, this is one sought after and unique car stating ‘Bertone Linea Rossa’ on the V5, what you see is factory standard plus a couple of tasteful modern upgrades. I believe that this particular car is literally one of a mere handful of Convertible models remaining so it’s a piece of history that will not only provide reliable roof down fun but also be a solid investment that will only go up in value.
The Linea Rossa models came from the factory with unique Red and Black Full Leather Sports Seats, Door Panels, Steering Wheel and Gearknob, all with Red French Stitching and 5 Stage Heating Function plus Aluminium ‘Linea Rossa’ Branded Door Entry Sills. A unique body styling kit with deeper bumpers and side skirts with front fog lamps. It also had a Gunmetal Centre Console, White Instrument Dials with Red Needles, Heated Front Seats, 17 Inch Alloy Wheels which were shared with the Turbo model. - 95, 200 Miles, currently being used occasionally. This car has seen consistent light use from new which can be seen from the folder of paperwork from over the years which in my opinion is the best way to keep a car.
- Full Service History. Cambelt and Waterpump were replaced in 2017. The most recent fully documented service being a Major one carried out less than 500 miles ago in June this year. During this service, it had the Oil and Filter renewed, New Spark Plugs, Break pipes, Brake Fluid Change, Brand New Front and Rear Brake Discs and Pads plus brand new Brake Hoses and 4 Tyres!
- MOT was carried out at the same time with No Advisories, and runs until 13/ 06/ 2022.

The car really does look fabulous with its bright red paint, red and black leather interior with sports seats. The black mohair convertible electric roof is in great condition and works perfectly upon the touch of a button. It drives utterly perfectly, without a single untoward noise. It’s clear from its maintenance history that it’s been cherished and never wanted for anything. The bodywork is in very good condition and the red paintwork is still very bright. The only negative point is there is some minor lacquer peel in places, mainly tiny patches on the bonnet and passenger door mirror but certainly nothing that is particularly noticeable but there is room for improvement for someone to take this car to the next level but in my eyes it’s perfect and I wouldn’t change its character. The leather upholstery is all in superb condition with very little signs of use. Overall, considering this car is 18 years old there is very little to fault. I have numerous photographs of it, and can provide a walk around video if required. The only other niggly point worth mentioning is the remote central locking keys don’t work - I haven’t investigated this but suspect they need new batteries as the LED’s don’t light up. Will look into this, but the central locking operates perfectly via the key.
What’s not to like? It looks and sounds superb, and you can’t beat a solid feeling convertible when the roof is down. This car will appeal to a nostalgic group of people from the 90’s and early 2000’s era of performance cars, or for someone wishing for a trouble free fun convertible with all modern features.
