Historically important car , certified as the last car ever sold by Jowett and registered at Bradford ( Jowett's home town) as KKY 155 in 1954.. All matching numbers .
1500cc water cooled OHV flat 4 engine , rear wheel drive , 4 speed gear box.
Alluminium body on tubular steel chassis designed by Austrian Robert von Eberhorst of Auto-Union Type"D" Grand Prix car ( AUDI ) fame and chassis produced by ERA.
Jupiters were technically a very advanced cars for the period , Hand built , only about 1000 were made, of which approximately 30 were the 1A SC mode. Independent front suspension , torsion bar suspension all round , rack and pinion steering and twin leading shoe front brakes.
This rolling chassis no. 2 was built for the 1949 Motor Shows in London, Glasgow, Paris, Geneva and Belgium and kept by Jowett as the display rolling chassis with updates as they became available. Jowett finally completed this car and re-numbered chassis as E4SC 1033/ R53C in 1954 to latest specification 1A SC with new re-styled body with opening boot lid and much improved hood line.
Body off restoration about 20 yrs ago but unused last 3-4 yrs. before I purchased it in 2018( as owner died ) Aluminium body and steel tubed chassis free from oxidisation and corrosion. Excellent, paintwork, plating, leather seating, hood, tonneau cover and hood-bag.
