Early MK1 Escort Van (1969) - 1300cc
Located in Ashford - Kent
If you serious about buying an Escort MK1 Van and appreciate the value and rarity of these then you really need to look no further and invest in this one.
This 4 owner 25, 000 mile example is one of a kind and probable the best out there, could be left as an original unmolested example or easily restored to Concours. Stored in dry, dehumidified garage undercover when not in use.
Ant Anstead refurbished all the mechanicals on this, so he could use it as a daily runner with no reliability worries – this remains the same today, starts, runs and drives very well. See Ant Anstead Article in photos – Hand Sign Written ‘Evanta Motor Co.’ ‘Support Vehicle’ painted on Van was commissioned by him – apparently this can easily be removed if you wish with oven cleaner, elbow grease and a quick polish after (see YouTube videos)
All grey areas of body work have had work whilst all blue areas remain original (except under bonnet) which was resprayed when mechanicals overhauled I believe and in very good condition).
This van really is in good condition all round see photos, ask if you want more of any specific area. Serious buyers are welcome to come and look, in garage on ramp ready for any inspection.
I have done too few miles in this van to warrant keeping it, needs to go to a more worthy home – but not desperate to sell so no silly offers or chancers please.
I changed some bits on the van (of the era upgrades/ mods) so it was more usable/ reliable/ comfortable for everyday use but have kept all the original components as spares or to be put back if required or sell for a small fortune on ebay.
