1987 MERCEDES-BENZ R107 500SL
One of my favourite cars to arrive into stock this week is this absolutely stunning R107 500sl. Finished in a wonderful 80’s combination of arctic white over brazil brown leather this beautiful example was purchased from a regular client and Mercedes Benz Collector friend of ours recently who has decided he has way too many r107’s so allowed us the opportunity to buy it. Both a well known chap and car within club circles it was valued back in 2018 at £30000 and as we all know R107 prices have enjoyed a significant rise over the last few years which makes this particular car a superb overall buy.
It has covered 125000 miles supported by a wonderful service history including a fully stamped service book and maintenance folder full of old mot’s and regular service invoices/ repairs , in fact it has been maintained by the same Mercedes-Benz specialist in Surrey from 1996 until the current day.
It is a highly original car that presents very well indeed, all the trim both inside and out is in superb condition and the body is free of rust.
What makes this particular car so desirable is the fact that it is a facelift model which were all galvanised bodies so therefore have far fewer corrosion issues than the earlier non galvanised cars so are more expensive to buy but cheaper long term!
It drives absolutely without fault which is a testament to the build quality of these 80’s Mercedes. You genuinely feel like you could jump in it and drive across Europe tomorrow!
