This example, is 1 of 57 RHD Highline Manual cars, 1 of only 9 produced in the last year of production, 1989. As a facelift car, it benefits from the improved chassis and engine, along with the luxury of the top of the range and desirable ‘Highline’ spec.
This car has covered 145, 000 miles, with an amazing service history, detailing the life of this car from new.
Its recently has a full windows out / panels off repaint to original BMW specifications along with future proofing and protecting the underneath of this amazing car. If you are looking for an outstanding 6 Series, this example must be seen. The restoration is fully documented, showing the car was relatively rust free to start with. The owner just wanted the car stripped back to ensure there was no hidden rust and to be able to fully protect the car going forward. The work has been done to an excellent standard, the paintwork has a factory finish, the work was performed by an ex BMW painter from the period this car was in the showrooms.
This car was originally owned by ‘Walker’ family, owners of Blackburn Rovers FC and Walker Steel, keeping it in the family for 23 years. All owners carefully looking after this outstanding car. This car has always been stored and maintained correctly.
This car drives and performs perfectly, the manual gearbox transforms the driving experience of this car, its a delight.

Finished in Lachs Silver with Black extended Nappa, hand stitched leather.
The paintwork is in excellent condition. The finish from the 2019 repaint is excellent, looks very close to factory finish. Its been maintained very well since, so is in ready to show condition. We have all the pictures of the restoration. This was no rusty project, it really only needed minimal metalwork. It was more about ensuring there was no hidden rust and to protect the car going forward.
The interior is a lovely place to be. This leather extends to virtually all surfaces and its all in excellent condition. Look further, the dash / headlining / carpets are all in superb condition.
The wheels currently fitted to this car are slightly later wheels. This is a very popular upgrade as this allows the fitment of more modern tyres, as the original alloys (which do come with car) are Metric tyres, so a very old tread pattern.
Engine / Gearbox
The 3. 5 straight six engine runs and performs perfectly. Look at the amount of oil services this car has had, its amazing. Its such a lovely unit, especially when mated to the rare 5 speed manual gearbox. It gives this car a much more sporty feel. The clutch is also, nice and light, gear changes are precise.
History
This example benefits from a fully documented service history. We have a massive folder detailing the history, with all the original bills and receipts, all the old MOT’s, original sales brochure, original service book, pictures of car at club events etc.
