Description
1979 Triumph Bonneville T140, UK bike with matching numbers and very low number of owners.
Ask for link to plenty of photo's.
This machine is exceptionally original and presents very nicely for it, not restored or a trailer queen but in my opinion better for it. They are as they say "0nly original once"
There is nothing that looks bad, the chrome is decent if thin in places, the paint original I think with no dents on the tank. The frame has had plenty of hand touching up but looks tidy enough and more importantly this has prevented rust.
This model has the later dials, improved switch gear and later carbs.
Just recently benefitted from a recent cylinder head refurb with new guides, valves and springs. Headwork done including facing the head by the well known "rocker box motorcycles" near me.
It also has electronic ignition.
All very original with exception of the silencers.
It starts, runs, rides and stops well and I am happy to potter about on it.
Although legal the tyres could do with replacing but I will leave this to the next owner to decide what they want... classic look or moderns. If I end up keeping it I would run classic looking tyres myself.
Revival motors is a very part time business which deals in classic cars and motorcycles…………. turning a hobby into a very part time vocation I actually enjoy. I am always happy to discuss my vehicles which often I have used and will always point out any known faults, issues or areas that could be improved. This T140 may be my classic ride next spring if it stays with me long, it sounds fantastic ;0) .
