Here we have a lovely Rolls Royce 20 HP 6 Light Limousine, clothed in this case with a Park Ward body. The car was built in 1929, and copies of all of the original build sheets are with the car in beautifully-written ink pen handwriting!
The car was exported to USA at some time in its life, only to return in 1991, as the import and sale documents verify. It was then that a certain Mr Monks undertook the most extraordinarily painstaking restoration as we have seen, keeping all invoices throughout, and winning many 1st in Class Concours Awards in the process. All of this is accompanied by a photographic record of the work done. The extensive history file of notes, receipts and invoices show that this car received whatever it needed, at whatever time, and with no expense spared, even including the fitting of a “J” Type Tim Payne Overdrive to aid engine and general performance, which still works as intended today.
Although the restoration was undertaken some time ago, the vehicle wears the depth and breadth of that care and attention even today. It drives beautifully, and would inspire confidence to complete any sort of trip around the Country or further afield to Europe.
