This wonderful face lift example is finished in a subtle but sharp Titan Silver colour way that embodies the understated silhouette that BMW fans have become to love, made ever so more understated with its factory rear spoiler delete.
The Titan Silver paintwork presents consistently well after a full paint correction detail with our in house team. The rear arches and sills are corrosion free, a common downfall of the M5s from this and previous era. All of the plastic trim on the car are in good condition and has retained its factory colour and finish. The complete car presents as a much lower mileage example than the clock suggests.
INTERIOR:
This E39 comes with the heritage Black Nappa Leather interior which perfectly offsets the Titan Silver paintwork. The front seats have no wear to the bolsters or cracks in the leather whilst the dash is furnished with the individual wooden trim; a welcome addition to brighten up the cabin area. As a face lift car it comes optioned with the widescreen Navigation system, a £5, 000 option from new. The boot is lined in immaculate grey carpet with the original BMW onboard toolkit stored in the lid.
ENGINE:
Pop the bonnet on the M5 and you are presented with the mighty M Power V8 engine. With a beautifully clean engine bay and combined with the comprehensive paperwork it is evident that this S62 has been maintained to a high standard. The Getrag Type D six-speed manual transmission is tight, precise and perfectly matched to the performance of the V8 with a broad operating bracket ensuring the car feels both dynamic and alive, although with huge torque on offer the engine doesn't have to be overly worked to achieve considerable performance.
The balance of chassis, powertrain and engine characteristics work to create an incredible combination of performance and poise all wrapped into an analog driving experience too often lost on more modern machine - a key reason behind the continued success and popularity of the E39.
WHEELS:
The 18" M5 alloy wheels look fantastic and present in factory dark chrome, free of any major marks or scuffs. Michelin Pilot Sport 4's are wrapped around each corner with plenty of tread.
The brakes, recently renewed, perform as they should with no adverse pitch, pull or drone.
HISTORY FILE:
This facelift M5 was first registered on the 18th January 2001 and having remained in single ownership up until 24/ 05/ 2015 where it has gone on to have only 2 owners since.
With a complete service history stamped in the original book this M5 has had a huge amount of work throughout its life. Recently the car visited BMW specialist CPC Auto Services where they did a full service as well as fit new mechanical parts such as disc's and pads, coolant and pad sensor's as well as rear toe control arms. Additionally it has had a new clutch alongside other remedial work to ensure complete peace of mind that the car needs nothing going forward and it is ready to be enjoyed.
The stamped service book sits alongside the full book pack, with assorted invoices as well as a log of MOT certificates confirming mileage. The original Inspection sheet from BMW is also included with a pleura of other brochures, magazines and M5 enthusiast related papers.
