Now, here’s a bargain for you!! There is certainly a good profit in it for anyone prepared to repaint it – which is all it needs. The car was kept in a garage for over 30 years, but over the last few years has been extensively restored with many new body panels, including floors, inner and outer sills, arches, door skins etc. The mechanics have also been totally rebuilt, and the structure of the car and all metal work is all excellent. The interior of the car is good, including carpets, door cards, headlining and seats (the seats are vinyl covered) under the bonnet is clean and tidy as you can see. The whole car is nice and original in specification and it has not been messed about with, and now even comes with the (now very rare) disc wheels, with four matching tyres in good condition. Hopefully the new owner won’t spoil it with alloys or wire wheels. The engine is a later 18V 5-bearing engine, the gearbox has working overdrive and a crash first gear. The car drives very, very well and we would describe it as a perfect basis for turning into a show winner. As mentioned above, the paintwork is dreadful, so a complete re-paint will be needed. However, if you like ‘shabby chic’ the car is totally useable as it is. V5C. No offers on this one.
