For sale is a very original 1939 BSA Silver Star KM23. Matching numbers. 5 owners from new. Never restored, so this Silver Star is a as close to original spec as you can get. There is a beautiful patina to the bike.
Sold on the 21st of March 1939. Registered on the 20th of April 1939.
1st owner: 1939-1945
2nd owner: 1945-1950
3rd owner: 1950-2001.
4th owner: 2001-2013
5th owner 2013-
The speedo now reads 12325km.
The Silver Star has never been restored, only meticulously maintained. In the current ownership, it has travelled approximately 1000kms since 2013. This is also the reason for the sale: the Silver Star is part of a collection of bikes and is being used too little.
The Silver Star is faultless and is a pleasure to ride. Smooth and powerful engine. The gearbox changes accurately. The entire bike feels “tight”.
The only deviation from original, is a replacement seat cover and some brush repair work to the top tank panel and the primary chain case done many years ago.
Original registration documents from 1939 confirming engine and frame number comes with the bike.
