Description
1969 Mercedes 280S Manual (column shift)
Imported from South Africa in 2018 so very little rust and structurally very solid. Drives very well and gets admiring looks everywhere she goes. The mileage is showing as 92k but is have no idea if or how many this had been around the clock as the car came with no history.
MOT exempt, Road Tax exempt, ULEZ exempt
During my ownership I've carried out the following:
New Weber carburettors
New shock absorbers
Cut springs
17" BBS replica wheels - 10j rear and 8. 5 j front (original wheels and hubcaps are included in the sale)
New brake master cylinder and brake lines
New handbrake cable
New fuel pump
Overhauled brake callipers
As can be seen from the photos the car looks superb from a distance but the paint does need some attention including the rear arches where I've stretched the rear arches to make the wheels fit. It would really benefit from a blow over.
The car also needs some TLC in other areas as per below:
Heater matrix valves are stuck on cold
N/ S boot well is corroded and needs welding/ repair
Dashboard lights don’t work (bulbs need replacing?)
Intermittent loud whirring noise coming from behind the speedo
Power steering system has a small leak
Driver’s seat is torn
