HERE IS THE HOLY GRAIL OF MARK 2 VW GOLF GTI BEING A 16 V AND THE LAST YEAR 1992.
I am an enthusiast of these cars and have had them with 25 years now and this is One of the Un abused Examples Remaining.
I know the history of the car from New, It was bought by an Irish man living in the UK in 1994 and he brought the car home with him in 1995 and sold it in 1998.
The next owner was a mechanic and kept it until 2003 when i purchased it
I sold it in 2005 as it was not being used and I got the opportunity to buy it back in 2007 and i have had it since,
The car was re painted in 2008 to a Good standard but now there are a few areas that need attention but it still Presents well.
I fitted a 2. 0 16 valve Engine built by GTI Engineering in the UK to there RE 2000 16 V SPECIFICATION and THIS makes a serious difference This engine had only covered 85000 miles with FSH when it was fitted in 2010 and has only done 1000 miles since.
I fitted a New four branch stainless manifold with the engine change and the Only other modification is a stainless exhaust system
The car has standard suspension, 15 inch BBS alloys which were refurbed and fitted with New Tyres, Power steering, electic windows, central locking , ETC
The rainbow interior is mint with No rips, or bolster wear but Like Most Golfs the Roof cloth is sagging but these are now available New again like most parts for these cars.
Now the Down side this car has Not Been used and was last NCT'D in 2011 and has sat outside so IT NOW NEEDS ATTENTION AND RECOMMISIONING.
Some of the electrics have stopped working most likely from being idle
It needs a small plate on the drivers floor pan but i have a New floor pan and the battery tray needs replaced.
The Car Starts and Runs well BUT YOU WILL NOT BE DRIVING IT HOME
