Description
Beautiful historic Armstrong Siddeley 17HP coachbuilt drophead (built by Salmons Tickford). This is a wonderful opportunity to own a really fine vintage car, just under the status of Bentleys and Rolls Royces of the period, but without the cost! The car is in very good condition, with seats re-upholstered by the previous owner, and a black and old english white respray we think in the early 1990s (still in very nice order). The running boards do need new rubber, readily available to purchase. The hood is in good shape (must be a replacement, but no idea when).
Mechanically, the car is running, although it has only had the engine running since it last went out in June 2021. It will need ongoing attention as any car of this age will, but has had a barnd new, old stock (not cheap Chinese copy) carburettor, and electronic starter fitted. Brakes will need some attention - annoyingly, the car is parked on a slope, and we live on a very hilly road, so haven't had the opportunity to get them seen to.
Gearbox is a Wilson Pre-Selector, a great piece of engineering that works really smoothly.
This car along with the saloon listed are being sold with a very low starting price as they need to go - we lost covered storage for them, and would hate to see them rot on our drive. A great chance for someone to rescue a fabulous car (or two) from the golden age of British motoring.
Car will need to be collected on a (large) trailer from Sussex (near Brighton)
