The Appeal
The Mercedes-Benz W124 is widely regarded as one of the most robustly engineered saloons of its era, and the E300 Sportline offered a sportier edge to the range. This example, however, goes considerably further: it was sent directly to Turbo Technics from new, receiving twin Garrett turbochargers, an intercooler, modified engine management, and a bespoke stainless steel exhaust system. It is believed by the vendor to be one of just 20 or 30 such conversions ever completed.
The car benefits from a dealer service history up to 145,000 miles, with Mercedes specialist care thereafter, and over £23,000 has been invested in total. Recent mechanical work alone accounts for invoices exceeding €5,000. The vendor states the car is in very good mechanical condition, and describes the interior (retrimmed at 145,000 miles) as retaining a superb appearance. The bodywork is reported as generally very clean and solid, though it would benefit from minor improvements.
With so few Turbo Technics E300S in existence, this is an opportunity you won't want to miss.
