This 1956 Austin Healey 100 BN2 is an original Healey Blue 4-speed overdrive car built on the 18th May at Longbridge and originally equipped with wire wheels, a heater, laminated windscreen and MPH speedo.
This Healey, CSK 473, remains very original throughout today with all original body panels, all original number stamped cockpit trims, original engine, original colours inside and out, it even retains the original number ignition key.
In addition to this impressive originality CSK 473 has been mechanically upgraded to the most desirable 100M specification with 100M type carburettors, camshaft, cold airbox and ram air pipe and furthermore received oversize pistons, a side exit exhaust and an aluminium Denis Welch cylinder head to provide power beyond M specification even. This work was undertaken in 2008 and the engine is unleaded converted with an additional radiator fan and alternator conversion for greater reliability. We are instructed the engine has done less than a few thousand miles.
The body of this 100 is an older restoration with the car restored a few years after the current owner purchased in 1990. The car was stripped down with new sills and wing bottom sections. Paintwork at the time of restoration was extensive and the low mileage of the car means it remains exceptionally clean underneath, in the jams and engine bay however this paint job is not of the same quality as restorations today and does have some age-related marks, blemishes and small bits that could use doing in the future.
Wheels and tyres are just a few years old on CSK, the tyres being the very nice 165 Blockley radials which are very well suited to these cars. Wheels are 60 spokes in Aluminium Silver (factory finish) from MWS wheels.
The hood and tonneau were replaced in the late 90s and are in very good condition for this age with no major marks or stains and little signs of use or wear. The interior seating has been dyed so has good colour but there is some small wear to the seat piping and edges. Carpet is new in 2022 and smart.
CSK 473 has received a major service from ourselves both to the engine as well as suspension and brake items and drives very nicely indeed. This is a Healey well suited to someone who values originality over perfection and who may wish to improve a car with very good mechanicals over time.
Supplied serviced with MOT, British Motor Heritage Certificate of Authenticity, history file, jack, hammer, hood and tonneau, spare, V5, HPI clear.
