We are delighted to present for sale this Land Rover® Series 2a crossover presented in the Deep Bronze Colour Scheme with Green Wheels, previously sold by us in 2019.
Externally, there are lots of pleasing features, such as vintage numberplates, rear grab handles, front lifting eyes, larger defender door mirrors, towball and electrics, free wheeling hubs to aid economy and limit axle wear, and a set of our own 750 military tyres fitted in 2019, which increase gearing, have unrivalled off & on road ability and are self cleaning. There is a bonnet mounted spare, along with the sand canvas as photographed. It is good to note the paintwork is of a spray type finish too.
The interior is largely standard, with three recent front seats fitted along with deluxe matting in the footwells – the period finish makes it pleasant to sit in. The rear houses a pair of bench seats to increase carrying capacity to seven occupants including the driver. The previous owner also had us fit him a heater, which is pumped in and blows hot air into the cabin on two speeds.
Out on the road, the previous customer requested modifications give an enhanced period driving experience. The petrol engine is whisper quiet, and the 750 tyres, along with free wheeling hubs, extend the gearing to make cruising easier whilst delivering the best possible economy on longer runs, bearing in mind the period engine. It stops and goes just as it should.
