This is the first Ford Anglia Van we have had in over 30 years of selling classic cars. Rare would be an understatement, and this one hasn’t been too far from us in recent years having spent seven years in Scarborough, and the past twelve years up on the North Yorkshire Moors with a commercial vehicle collector. The 105E based Thames 307E 5 and 7 cwt vans were released in 1961 and shared the front body panels with the Anglia Saloon but the vans were structurally very different with a taller windscreen and different shaped doors which curved upwards to avoid damage from kerbing.
FNB 409D is a brilliant driver, a fabulous ‘user' that is capable of regular use. According to MOT certificates the Van has covered 55000 miles since 1994. The Ford has not had next to no road use since 2013 but before arriving with has had a new stainless steel exhaust, all new wheel cylinders, new clutch slave cylinder, new master cylinder and four new tyres. We will be servicing the Ford and carry out our usual level of preparation.
This is a an incredibly rare find, its superbly sign written with Hayes of Horsforth Ford dealers, the company its most recent owner worked for many, many years ago. This is a fabulous find and whilst its not going to win any shows, it's a good sound, usable Van that is ideal for a collection, Company promotion or just some good fun.
