This is a lovely restored 1939 BSA Silver Star from a private collection. Long term ownership.
The Silver Star is in very good condition. The paint is very good. The chrome on the tank is impeccable. The paint on the Jones rims is a bit worn in places, but this is only noticeable when you get up close and does not detract from the overall appearance.
All in all a very presentable BSA grand tourer from the pre-war years.
Mechanically the Silver Star was fully rebuild and the engine has very good compression. Gears select freely. Clutch engages smoothly.
The crankcase was replaced at some point in the past and was re-stamped so it is not the original crankcase fitted.
Original Jones rims fitted front and back. Original BSA levers in mint condition. Original Lucas rearlight and headlight fitted. The petrol tank dashboard is complete with light and the original Lucas ammeter.
The Silver Star has been stored for the last years with preservation oil in the cylinder/ engine. It will need careful recommissioning, before returning to the road.
Comes with original 1939 registration documents.
