Paper work available indicates that this remarkable Renault 8 from 1964 was built by Steve Swan into a formidable hill climb car although still completely road legal. Boasting almost 150bhp from its 1400cc engine (rolling road read out available) on twin 40 Webbers, the car has a Steve Swan built 4 speed box (he’s the go to guy for Classic Renault gearboxes) and currently sits on Yokohama Advan tyres mounted on Gotti rims although it is equally at home on road tyres. It has a roll cage, plumbed in fire extinguisher (plus a hand held 2. 85kg extinguisher), electrical cut off switch, two OMP seats with Oreca 4 point belts and a full interior, a custom exhaust and that iconic Gordini steering wheel. To help with balance and handling a genuine Gordini front fuel tank has been fitted, the original rear tank is still fitted, both tanks are working perfectly controlled by a dashboard mounted switch. This is a really, really good classic Renault, starts on the button with perfect oil pressure. Please note it is not a Gordini despite the badges and stripes.
