This is one of only twenty 900ss ie Senna options believed to have come to the UK and only 168 worldwide. They were all manufactured in 2002, although a few were first registered in subsequent years. The Senna colour option differs from the standard 900ss ie by way of the specific Senna colour scheme, the light aluminium swing arm (shared with the later 1000ss), Ohlins adjustable suspension and Marchesini lightweight forged five spoke alloys wheels. This is the reliable fuel injected model.
It is a great everyday, usable, modern classic, with bags of torque making it ideal for fast road conditions and with decent Brembo brakes to slow it down. It would easily cope as a daily rider or touring machine. Being a Supersport, it is far more comfortable than the Ducati sportsbikes of the era. They are gradually increasing in value now due to their rarity, being an early example of Pierre Terblanche design and the fact that the earlier 900ss is now edging ever higher in price.
The bike is in genuinely good condition for its age. It does have a few little marks here and there as is to be expected of a 20 year old bike. The fairings are in very good condition and so is the trellis frame. The Marchesini alloys look as new. It comes with the original tool kit and all of the original documents. I also have the original sales poster showing the bike in the Senna colour option along the other Ducati bikes of that year.
The belts were last changed at 26, 051 miles and the MOT is not due until January 2023. It has also had a new clutch and clutch basket and has only covered around 200 miles since they were fitted. This has kept the famous Ducati dry clutch chatter down without losing the distinctive sound. It has been fitted with a lightweight lithium battery for easy starting. It is both reliable and dependable if you are looking to ride a classic instead of forking out for a new bike. Its been kept in my insulated garage under a bike cover and has not seen rain whilst I have owned it.
