1972 Vauxhall Viva X14 2 Door. 1256cc

I have owned this car for the past 10 years, used it regularly when I bought it for approx. 6 months when I got a new job that involved an 80-mile commute each day. I actually used the viva for this for a couple of weeks and it managed fine. However, I did not really feel comfortable putting so many miles on it so bought another car and put this in a lock up. There it stayed until earlier this year. I am only selling now as space is at a premium and I have recently bought another classic that I have always wanted.
Recently recommissioned and ready to go. Since I pulled it out the car has had the following done.

• Full service with new timing chain tensioner, thermostat and recon rad/ coolant renewed.
• Gearbox rear seal changed as this leaked slightly last time it was on the road, gearbox and diff oil checked and renewed as needed.
• All flexible fuel lines renewed including the fuel tank filler piece.
• Couple of small bits of welding attended too.
• Headlights rewired to work from a modern relay. Increases the brightness and more importantly protects the old wiring and switch from issues as these can overheat and burn out.
• Headlining renewed.
• Car resprayed (not a fantastic finish but very presentable and a vast improvement over the old faded paintwork!)
• Brakes flushed and fluid changed.
• 4 decent part worn tyres as the old ones had perished.

The engine runs nicely and starts up straight away with a bit of choke. This been the X14 Special Edition benefits from 14 extras, see if you can spot them all. Rostyle wheels, chrome spats and reverse lights been three. The most useful one is probably the addition of servo assisted front disc brakes. Making for much safer driving in this day and age.
The car has a few period upgrades the keen enthusiasts may spot. Including a period centre console, vinyl covered door tops, SL style grill and seat covers (new old stock fitted last week)
The original seats are not too bad but have sun damage to the top of the rear seat and a couple of small holes to the driver’s seat.
The car comes with a folder full of service history from new to back up the low mileage. Including original sales brochures/ manuals and pretty much every MOT along with a lot of other receipts.
I also have a few spares that can go with the car including a new starter motor, spare gearbox, recon steering rack and a box full of other bits and pieces. Also some cellulose paint for any touch ups needed in future.
The car has had a life and has had welding, some prettier than other. I won’t shy away from that and have tried to capture this in the walk around video. It is however solid overall and a nice useable classic. It’s very presentable and gets lots of attention but isn’t a museum piece that you worry about driving incase it gets a stone chip.

Walkaround video available

The car means a lot to me and I would like to see it go to a loving home where it will be used and appreciated. Any inspection welcome. I am based in Bolton near Manchester.
