This classic camper van is now over 40 years old and exempt from holding an MoT or having to be taxed. It is a German Von Niesmann fibreglass coach built body hence it will last and not rot as the wooden ones do built on these LT platforms. There is no damp inside and never has been. The main seams are also sealed with rubber tape.
It is a long wheel base compared to most VW LT coach built motor homes, 23 feet long with a Volvo D24 CP coded diesel engine, four speed gearbox with low speed emergency gear and is left hand drive. It comes with various servicing parts and spares and is a minor on going project for the right owner. It has a new Sunware Series 20 solar panel of the maximum available 100 watt rating and two brand new Exide ER550 leisure batteries. This set up is regulated by the latest 10 amp MPPT charge controller technology which has so many features and benefits it would be a case of reading the booklet to understand them all. Basically the latest MPPT technology gives maximum battery life and the most efficient management available for 12 volt solar and wind systems.
Items such as the accommodation water pump, water heater which has been replaced within the last 15 years and the three way Dometic fridge all work as they should. The fridge will freeze red meat and is two star rated. It will not safely freeze chicken for a longer period of time. It has a three ringed gas hob and lots of kitchen storage space. We have spent £13, 000 on it so far including the original cost price and cannot afford to spend any more.
It has a bathroom with good sized shower and quite a lot sleeping space and can sleep 7 people in two double beds and three singles, two are bunk beds. The front springs and rear shock absorbers have recently been replaced with the rear shock absorbers being Bilstein.
There is a new cambelt kit included in the sale and all sorts of other parts, we have quite a stock of them, including 5 years worth of engine oil filters. This is a very rare opportunity to acquire an LT coach build of the rare, continental european long wheel base size and in the original LT guise with the earlier CP coded engine, round head lights and earlier wiring design as denoted in the Haynes manual included in the sale, potentially making it rarer and more valuable then later, revised LTs in the earlier shape, such as the models with rectangular head lights. It also comes with very rare Volvo manuals for the engines maintenance procedures and the special tools for setting valve clearances.
