EQUIPMENT
Obsidian metallic paintwork, Grey cloth upholstery, 5-speed manual transmission, 4-wheel drive system, 21-inch Genuine W463A AMG alloy wheels, Enlarged track and wheel arch extensions, Electric tilt and slide sunroof, Electric windows , Central locking operating with the Clifford alarm, Electrically adjustable door mirrors, Individual front arm rests, timber interior trim, Foldaway rear seats, Mud flaps front and rear, Covered spare wheel, Towbar.
EXTERIOR
Finished in MB Obsidian Metallic Black, the vehicle was originally blue, the paintwork is of a very high quality and the only place blue can be seen is on the engine bay bulkhead, door window rubbers have been replaced keeping wind noise down and water out.
The Headlamps have been replaced with Genuine MB bi-Xeon lights complete with self-levelling to keep them MOT compatible, the rear lamps have been updated to the newer style along with smart led combined fog and reversing lights, all the glass remains in very good order including the rear sliding windows which also benefit from a mild tint.
INTERIOR
The hard-wearing Cloth seats in airy light grey is a nice contrast against the black exterior. The upholstery is in great order throughout, even to commonly worn areas such as the armrests and driver seat which are all unmarked, the wooden trim appears in fine order with no cracks or sun damage, and the switchgear all feels reassuringly solid to operate and everything operates as it should, the original headlamp levelling system has been removed and replaced with a Boost gauge to keep an eye on the engine modifications, more of which later. The steering wheel shows no signs of heavy use and there is no damage to any of the interior trim or panels. The rear seats are perfectly presented, the boot area is in good condition and comes with its original toolkit and first aid kit, both are stored in their correct storage doors.
There is an intigrated reversing camera, this is shown in the rear view mirror and is mounted within a genuine G wagon camera housing on the rear door, there is also a DAB radio complete with Bluetooth phone and music connection.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
This is where the little G300 really shines above the rest, as they wouldn’t be the most powerful engine in their original form!
This engine has the benefit of a turbo and intercooler, with the injection pump being modified by Diesel Pump UK thus matching the boost pressure through the rev range, all these parts were supplied by Diesel Pump UK who are well known in the Mercedes Diesel tunning arena. This G drives brilliantly and is more than capable of keeping up with modern day traffic and with the additional power comes the additional torque giving a smooth overtake when necessary.
During the engine rebuild the head was removed and checked over, there was NO wear in the engine, all gaskets were replaced during the rebuild.
The Clutch has also been replaced and all oils changed in the engine and gearbox.
The front axle has also benefitted from all new bearings, seals all fluids and grease and the CV joints have been rebuilt with new GKN boots within the hubs.
The brakes have been upgraded as detailed in the next section.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The G300 sits on upgraded 21-inch genuine AMG alloys, all in perfect unmarked condition having only been fitted in recently. They are shod in a matching set of 285/ 45 R21 Hankook tyres, The brakes have also been upgraded to cope with the extra power, these are 300mm discs from a G500 with 6 piston callipers from the C63AMG theses all operate with the original ABS brakes bringing the car to a stop quickly and in a straight line.
The original mercedes G wagon wheels will be coming with the vehicle.
HISTORY FILE
There is little history from previous owners but it is clear that it has been looked after extremely well throughout its life, during my ownership I have kept all the receipts for all the work I have carried out to date this totalling £5800 a large chunk of which is the engine modifications.
