This is a very rare surviving example of the Range Rover ‘In Vogue’ Limited Edition in nice original condition from the second series finished in Nevada Gold which should have huge appeal to the Range Rover enthusiast/ collector.
The 'In Vogues' were the first serious steps by Land Rover to take the Range Rover up-market following huge interest in the model after it was featured in a Vogue magazine fashion shoot in 1981. The 4 door versions (all finished in either Nevada Gold or Sierra Silver) were the first Range Rovers supplied from the factory with Automatic gearboxes using the 3 speed Chrysler A727 Torqueflite transmission and LT230R transfer box.
The interior specification included Air conditioning, American walnut door cappings, coin tray, front and rear folding arm rests, rear headrests, full load space carpeting, Digital "Range Rover" Philips AC 807 radio cassette stereo with four speaker system and an insulated coolbox (no longer present)
This example was sold new in the UK and exported to South Africa in 1990 when the then owner emigrated. It was re-imported back to the UK in 2019 and re-registered on it's original number plates by DVLA. It has since undergone a comprehensive program of refurbishment with a Land Rover specialist in Devon. Odometer reads 58, 900km and this is apparently total mileage since import to South Africa in 1990 but previous UK mileage unknown. The only paperwork available is the original sales invoice.
The exterior is in nice overall condition with both the paintwork and original wheels having been re-finished in South Africa in recent years. The panel gaps are all good and the trim is in good condition.
Mechanically everything has been sorted with a full service and tune up recently performed and 6 months MOT still remaining. The work included attention to bodywork where necessary including replacing sills, rear outer arches and dog legs and a new rear cross member fitted with all new bushes. A bespoke complete new exhaust system to match the original has been fabricated with all new manifold gaskets.
There is only one other surviving example of the 'In Vogue' second series known in this colour and that is with the Dunsfold Collection.
Any known issues have been addressed so as to give many more years of great service and this is now a fantastic 'ready to drive' example of this iconic model.
