EQUIPMENT
Topaz Blue Metallic paintwork, Black leather upholstery, Sports front seats, 18-inch MV1 alloy wheels, 5-speed manual transmission, Multifunction sports leather steering wheel, Automatic air conditioning, Rear parking sensors (PDC), Electric folding door mirrors, Auto-dimming rear view mirror, Front central armrest, BMW Business CD player, BMW CD changer, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), On-board computer, Clear front indicators, Front fog lights, Alarm system, Spare key, BMW Tool kit.
EXTERIOR
The bodywork on this low mileage E46 can only be described as pristine, with a beautiful glass-like finish to the paint; other than a couple of tiny marks on the bumpers it’s hard to find fault. The headlights and indicator lenses are crystal clear and in perfect condition as are the chrome kidney grills, fog lights, and the BMW bonnet emblem. Looking down both sides of the car it’s as straight as an arrow with no parking dings or scratches. Normally the scuttle panel below the windscreen has faded but on this example it’s in perfect condition as are the wiper arms, rubber seals, and the windscreen itself. All of the chrome trims around the windows are unmarked and there is no hint of fingernail or key scratches around the door handles or rear boot lock. The rear lights are also crystal clear and everything is finished off nicely with the shining chrome exhaust tips.
INTERIOR
The first thing you notice when you open the door is that new car BMW smell. As you start to take in the interior you would believe you were looking at a two-year-old car as the leather is in fantastic condition and still remains soft to the touch. The sports seats are a very desirable option and other than a little light wear to the edge of the driver’s bolster the leather is without any other marks. The steering wheel, gear knob and armrest are also in perfect order. The dash and centre console are immaculate with the only signs of wear being a few small marks on the ashtray lid and around the cupholder. The back seats look brand new and all of the carpets are immaculate other than a little wear on the drivers overmat. On the last service at BMW in March this year the air conditioning was recharged ready for some cool summer cruising.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The engine bay itself is also in immaculate condition with no signs of any corrosion on any of the ancillary parts, nuts or bolts, and all of the plastics are in first-rate condition with no signs of damage. Other than a tiny amount of oxidisation on the aluminium it looks virtually as new. Just back from a full Inspection II service at BMW everything is running perfectly.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
All of the alloy wheels are in immaculate condition having just been refurbished at BMW, the only negative to pick up on is a little delamination to the original BMW centre caps which can easily be replaced. All the wheels are shod in a matching set of Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres, all of which have plenty of tread remaining. The brakes have just been checked at BMW and are in fine working condition. As an advisory the rear pads will need replacing in a few thousand miles as they are 70% worn but the front pads and all discs are fine.
HISTORY FILE
For the first 19 years of its life the car was in the hands of only one careful owner. He had the first two services carried out at a BMW main dealer, following this he had the next five services carried out at a local independent garage. The current owner has only had the E46 for a short time but upon buying it he had a full Inspection II service done at BMW. At the same time he had them re-gas the air conditioning and refurbish the alloy wheels. All of the services are stamped in the original service book and there is an accompanying folder with almost all of the invoices detailing the service and maintenance work. To further verify the very low mileage of just 26k there are all of the MOT certificates dating back to 2006. All of the spare keys are with the car and the vehicle registration document confirms only 1 previous keeper.
