1995 last Expression model with 1. 8i engine and ABS brakes.
MOT Feb 2023.
This car has had just two owners, the last one bought it from Network Q Vauxhall when it was just 2 years old.... in 1997.
It is hard to believe it is 27 years old, retro cars are popular for simplicity and the Vauxhalls are no exception.
Everything works it would seem.
The interior is very smart with no rips/ tears and in truth looks almost unused, I suspect the back seats may not have been sat in!! It still has the original rubber vauxhall mats inside although the drivers one is holed.
The specification includes ABS brakes which is useful in modern traffic.
ABS, Power Steering, Manual tilt slide sunroof, electric front windows, original radio cassette with its code, original fitted mudflaps all round.
The bodywork displays none of the usual corrosion common on this model, wheel arches to the rear are perfect. It gleams all round in Satin Red which is I feel one of the best colours and has no peeling lacquer. On close inspection a few very minor touch ups are found on bumper corners etc but on the whole it seems original paint on all panels, better still it does not display the all too common shopping trolley door opening dinks down the sides.... it is remarkably unscathed in this respect!! a very small scrape to the rear left arch hardly shows and a modest indentation around the door moulding on the nearside rear door again hardly noticing.
It drives very well indeed, just like a low mileage looked after car should. I was surprised, straight, no wander, does not bump or rattle and the clutch feels spot on. All five gears are slick and it stops nicely and straight with the ABS working. The matched barely worn Michelin tyres no doubt adding to the feel.
Underneath shows no signs of previous welding, does not need any and areas often really crusty like the sill ends are good and solid. It could use a good wire brush with a waxoyl/ underseal which I decided not to do for fear of cover up worries from a new owner!
All five tyres are hardly worn matching Michelin quality and it has had fresh oil/ filter.
In summary a superb low mileage car.
I recently saw a saloon in the same colour and limited model make over £2200 on e-bay, nothing like as nice with warning lights on the dashboard!
Revival motors is a very part time business which deals in classic cars and motorcycles…………. turning a hobby into a very part time vocation I actually enjoy. I am always happy to discuss my vehicles which often I have used and will always point out any known faults, issues or areas that could be improved.
This car is sold as seen, as an ongoing project.
