the gti was brought to uk in 2018 by a highly regarded classic motor car specialist who knows his stuff, having spent an exhaustive amount of time trying to locate a good solid car, his efforts were rewarded when he found this absolute gem.
there is simply no cosmetic or structural corrosion anywhere in the car, the underside is just as you would want to see - simply wants for nothing.
the blue topaz paint work is excellent order true to the originality and mileage of the car having just been treated to a full professional detail the depth and shine really makes the colour stand out. The super comfortable blue valour interior i can only describe as unmarked, the seats, seat backs, door cards, carpets, dash, switch gear, are just in excellent condition this car has never seen a hard day.
the exceptionally comfortable interior with a fully adjustable driver’s seat also has the benefit of modern accessories of heated seats, air condition, electric sunroof, electric windows x 4, electric door mirrors, cd player and electric aerial.
these were both hugely comfortable and practical cars, that are engaging to drive courtesy of its slick 5 speed manual gearbox and light clutch, a very lively 2. 2 litre injected 125 bhp engine, that starts on the button and runs perfectly, i would not hesitate to set off on a 1000-mile journey in this car.
the wheels are in perfect order with new centre caps, new type correct michelin trx tyres have been fitted.
as you would expect there is an original handbook and papers plus a peugeot build certificate confirming its manufactured date of 24th sept 1987, alongside this is a service book stamped by the suppling dealer, original wallet, lots of service invoices, photos, some nice peugeot car club (auckland) magazines where the car is mentioned and of course all-important handwritten service log which dates back to 32, 000 miles some 22 years ago! Correctly registered here by the dvla and showing just one keeper! A full 12-month mot has just been passed with no advisory’s, there is simply nothing it needs other than enjoying.
