A lovely Norton Commando 850 interstate with 16989 miles. May increase as using on sunny weekends.
4 previous owners, now registered historic vehicle status, V5 in my name, Part Mot history as spent time in private a collection. Original frame and engine pairing.
Partially recommissioned by previous keeper prior to my ownership. Further fettling was needed to bring this Norton back to roadworthy condition.
Recently serviced, fresh oils and filters. Primary chaincase seal renewed, new clutch diaphragm fitted. New Avon Roadrider tyres, new tubes and rim tapes on original Dunlop WM2 19 inch rims.
New Motobatt 16. 5 ah battery. Glass fuse replaced with new mini blade holder.
Lights, original switchgear and electrics all serviceable. (The points ignition & 12 volt system are retained) Starts easily & runs nicely.
Brake system refurbished as necessary... Including front master cylinder, all seals replaced. New front brake light switch. Previously fitted Stainless Steel front brake hose in good condition.
Front brake caliper refurbished, New brake pipe, New stainless steel pistons, New endcap and all brake seals replaced
New front disc, studs & fixings, New Ferrodo Platinum pads.
Original Amal 932 twin carburettors... cleaned and serviced with new gasket sets, amal stay-up floats, Viton tip float needles, new banjos and filters, carburettors balanced.
New ethanol proof fuel lines. The Interstate tank was cleaned but left as is... it's spotless inside.
Rubber mountings were replaced as necessary on the head-steady and exhaust system.
Original Green spot Veglia clocks, speedometer has the trip meter. Granturismo grips.
A folder with V5, Copy receipts, 13 Mot certificates that confirm mileage, an original Norton Commando brochure, a riders manual & various laminated information cards etc... will be supplied to new owner.
This is a wonderful Commando with great patina... Starts easily, runs beautifully and sounds glorious!
She has a few minor blemishes from the past 48 years... but it's irreplaceable character!
