THIS is my 1987 Austin Maestro 500 City van in Champagne Beige. She has covered just 47, 000 miles and has an MoT until September of this year. She is amazing condition for an 80s van and has clearly led a sheltered life. Her load bay is in excellent order as is the underside, the cabin floors and the engine bay. She has a made to measure wooden board covered in carpet which protects the load bay. I simply removed it for photo purposes.
She drives like a new 1275cc van with loads of pep and without rattles or knocks. A sheer delight on the road and a hell of an eye catching classic commercial. You will rarely come across them in this sort of condition.
My classic cars are motoring antiques. Please do not confuse them with your one-year-old Range Rover. This car, for example, is 35-years-old and so will have quirks and faults in there somewhere. These are not always apparent when buying and selling classics which is what I do. I do not restore them, nor do I pretend that they are concours cars. The majority of them go out as they came in, and I continue to enjoy finding more - a skill which is becoming increasingly difficult as many of you will be aware. They deserve to be taken on as "family pets" and cared for through thick and then. They don't make them any more and demand now out-strips supply.
