Description
A rather rare early 30s post vintage mk1 Hillman Minx. For sale due to workshop (hobby) relocation - the car is in Hertfordshire and I now live in Wiltshire, and the realisation has kicked in that with restoring a listed house, running another vintage car and building up another, I am just not going to have the time in the next few years or space to give the car the time it needs.
The car was running nicely prior to dry storage (1 year ago), brakes functioning and driven around the yard. Clutch was a little sticky but nothing a good clean up would not sort. Engine ran like a sawing machine. Both the externals and interior needs a bit of love but has a charm, seats not ripped but need new foams. I had planned to get it roadworthy/ watertight and use it for picnic etc. Needs headlining. Please see the photos!
Parts shared with the later 30s cars so easily available. It caught eye as it had a bit of presence to it, more interesting than an Austin 7 and a bit bigger so could easily get the kids and the dog in the back to go for an adventure etc. The guy I bought it off replaced the innertubes and tyres (although these are not new). I do have 5 white wall radials from a Derby Bentley I used to own that I thought would look nice on it, will include in sale. Sunroof frame roughly remade and leather included to use. Comes with various manuals books.
V5 states 1 previous owner.
