We are very pleased to offer for sale this gem of an Austin Big Seven, in a lovely shade of dark blue. The car is in very good condition throughout and is very, very useable – ideal for shows, or just bumbling around in, for a bit of fun. I am sure you could use it every day – we would. Comes with a good history file which shows that the car has had only five owners in its 83 year history and has covered just 94, 000 miles, so an average of just over 1, 000 miles a year! It was extensively rebuilt between 1981 and 1985, and has been well maintained ever since. The bodywork is in excellent condition, lovely dark blue paintwork with a nice patina. Excellent door fit, good tidy boot, and tidy engine bay. The interior of the car is partly original (most of the seating) whilst the headlining, door cards etc have obviously been replaced at some time. All in all, a nice, comfy car to sit in. The underside of the car is tidy. The engine starts early with good oil pressure, no signs of overheating. The charging system works – in fact we think everything works, apart from the semaphores (flashing indicators have been fitted). The car drives along very well with lively 885cc engine and easy to use 4-speed gearbox. Good tyres on excellent wheels. These Big Sevens are greatly underrated in our opinion – they are super little cars to drive, much better than any Ruby, and a lot more spacious too. A great little car, excellent value.
