Here we have a recently imported from South Africa Ford Escort Mk2 with a 1600 xflow and automatic gearbox. Car is registered and TAX/ MOT exempt.
There's not many escorts out there as solid as this, a good example for its age.
Has a very good shell and and has very straight bodywork, paintwork is clean with some minor blemishes but looks great, some light surface rust on edge of bonnet, there is a dent in rear O/ S/ R door but looks like it could be pushed out, Car has had a repaint some time ago.
13" minilites with as new tyres.
1600 crossflow engine & automatic gearbox all running ok, being automatic it has the larger gearbox tunnel if you are thinking about an engine swap or fitting type 9 gearbox.
Under carriage is in great condition. Floors and chassis rails are solid throughout. tank well is fine, wheel well has slight rusting.
Engine bay is clean & tidy with no rust but can tell its been repainted recently. Wing rails, inner wings, strut tops, slam panel and heater bowl all good, still has its original heater bowl cover but is cracked all over.
Seats have some tears/ wear consistent with age but does not detract in anyway from how clean the interior is and being original and complete. The rest is in very good condition throughout including the headlining, carpets, all the dash components look well looked after, no cracked dash etc still retains a period radio!
O/ S headlight has crack in lens.
We suspect that this car is on its original mileage 33, 000mls due to its condition but unfortunately no service records,
you can tell it has been looked after all its life and probably garaged for the majority of it.
Car is fitted with an alarm immobilizer with central locking to front doors only.
As with all our imports we recommend that they go through a good check over before using and they have only been tested around the yard.
This truly is a lovely car and needs to be seen to be appreciated.
