Description
Well on its way to achieving the rank of a Classic Car, this is a truly
beautiful example of the Ford Probe. First registered in June 1996,
it has a silky-smooth 2. 5 V6 24 valve engine with a manual 5-speed
gearbox. Finished in sea-foam green, its genuine recorded mileage
of 60, 497 is backed-up by an abundance of service records, MoTs
and other documentation. Originally costing £19, 895 it has cruise
control, A/ C, sunroof, grey leather interior, original Ford radio/ cassette,
even the original dealer plates and rear-window sticker. All is 100%
standard and un-modified. And all is in really excellent condition.
It has led a pampered life, I bought it on 2nd March 2017 from a
former Royal Navy Commander who’d bought himself a boat ! As its
fourth owner, I’ve had it serviced annually ( but for Covid ) regardless
of mileage. It’s always been dry stored. The engine bay has been steam-
cleaned, the underbody under-sealed and the coachwork professionally
polished. The head gaskets, battery, boot struts, even floor-mats have
been renewed under my ownership. The car is too good not to care for.
On my 76th birthday I bought a Ford Cougar, an automatic, which with
equal care will, I hope, also become a candidate for classic car status.
I have to admit it’s maybe better suited to a driver of my advanced age.
So, just as the Commander did, I now have to hand the Probe on to a
new owner who will view it as a future classic well worth investing in.
Undoubtedly it will continue to appreciate in value, there being so very
few left that can match it.
