Description

One of the few surviving Linesman's vans with its double sloping tinted windscreen. This one was registered to the Telephone Manager, Cambridge. Complete with V5. The chassis, engine and drive chain have been totally rebuilt.

The chassis:
New main bearings, new clutch, new prop shaft bearings, overhauled carburettor, fuel pump, dynamo, starter motor; new coil; new rear hubs, new road springs, new shackles and pins, new king pins; completely new brake system as original with new brake pipes, new brake cylinders, new master cylinder, new linings; new full stainless steel exhaust system, shock absorbers supposedly rebuilt by specialist but leak. Complete set of instruments (need bezels re-plating). Radiator has not been rebuilt but holds water. Rebuilt engine runs nicely.

The Body:
The body in contrast needs a full rebuild. It is complete as original including the special windscreen, seats, headlamps, new trafficators, wings. These bodies were ordered by Morris from specialised coachbuilders. See the photo of the plate fitted in this van.
