Stunning car finished in the colour it left the factory- Rootes Commodore Blue which is correct to the VIN plate. Historic vehicle- tax & MOT exempt.
The speedo reads @ 32000 miles but as the car came from a deceased estate without any documentation apart from the V5, I am unable to verify this mileage as correct.
Only 5 former keepers and includes 2 keys.
Matching engine and chassis numbers as confirmed on the V5 document.
Instead of a GT hard top this vehicle has had the folding roof fitted which I much prefer and takes minutes to put up if raining.
This Alpine was taken off the road in the early 1980’s. At this time some minor body repairs were carried out by a skilled ‘old school’ panel repairer. I am also informed that the engine received some attention at this time but cannot verify the details.
Unfortunately due to the ill health of the owner the renovation came to a halt.
I purchased the Alpine a few years ago and recommissioned the vehicle as required.
The body lines are good as is the paint finish. The engine bay and inside the boot are very tidy. The underside Is in excellent order and is fully rust proofed. The seats and trims are in good order for a vehicle of this age.
The Alpine has covered about 1000 miles since it was recommissioned and the following parts were fitted at this time.
Engine - water pump, thermostat, temp sender, coolant hoses, heater valve, starter motor, battery, clutch kit, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, anti freeze/ corrosion inhibitor.
Steering/ Suspension- Polyurethane bushes to front, new shock absorbers front and rear. New rear spring bushes, track rod ends.
Brakes - All new pipes, flexy hoses, master cylinder, brake servo unit, front calliper seals, disc pads, rear wheel cylinders, rear brake shoes, rear brake adjusters.
Interior and trims - New soft top, new Coverdale quality carpets. Front and rear stainless steel bumpers. 5 new tyres 1000 miles ago.
The Weber carburettor conversation has been carried out but the original Stromberg carburettors and manifold are included in the spare parts.
The VIN plate states this Alpine left the factory with an overdrive gearbox.
A four speed fully synchro is currently fitted. The car drives well but
I feel that the overdrive would benefit this car at cruising speeds and so purchased an overdrive gearbox and prop shaft but never got round to having them fitted. These are included in the sale along with various spare parts and a genuine Sunbeam Workshop manual.
All the parts required for the overdrive are fitted to the car - column switch, dash light, overdrive relay and overdrive wiring loom.
