Reluctantly I have decided to put my E36 BMW Evolution Coupe up for sale. This is a very early pre facelift Evo, riding with the 3. 2 litre, 321 bhp, normally aspirated straight six engine, with aluminium doors and sporting a set of very rare staggered BMW Motorsport forged alloy wheels, 6 speed manual gearbox and limited slip differential. Apart from ABS there are no other driving aids, this thing really is brute force and needs to be driven with respect.
Car is priced at £15. 495 and comes with a full years MOT with 126, 795 miles. Mileage is fully warranted. Colour is Arctic Silver Metallic. All mileage is supported by a huge folder of receipts and stamped service book to 124, 000 miles.
I bought the car in 2014 at approx 123, 000 miles and the car has wanted for nothing in my ownership. She is full factory specification with the exception of a full stainless steel Eisenmann sports exhaust and full set of polybushes carried out in 2016. Never raced, tracked or modded. She had the front bumper, nose and side sills painted in 2016 to cure stone chips and to make her more presentable. She also at a BMW Inspection 2 at Darren Woods in Stockport.
Interior is full black nappa leather Vader seats. Front seats are heated, and dual zone climate control helps with comfort. Again the interior is fully standard including factory radio cassette player and on board computer. All displays work perfectly with no missing pixels.
Although she is a well speced and presentable car she does have a few niggles commensurate with age.
* Headlining is starting to sag - this is a common problem with E36. I did replace the headlining when I first bought the car but here we go again.
* Front fog lights have stopped working, I will try and sort if possible but I do have other more pressing issues to sort tbh
* Front nearside foglight has a cracked lens. Again this is a common E36 problem and it's the 3rd lens that's gone. I would [personally consider blanking these
* There is a small bubble of rust over the nearside rear arch. This has been present since I've owned the car and never got any worse. There is also a very small spot on the roof but again this has always been there. However the car is well presented in every other way.
The last ten years have seen the E36 3 series become much sort after, especially those that have escaped the clutches of car modders and boy racers. With E30 M3 prices well out of reach of most, the E36 offers an way into M3 ownership.
