Description
Jeep CJ7 Renegade Levi Edition
Original condition!
The car was acquired for the family in the early 80s, as I recall, 1982 from a jeans merchant in Riihmäki, Finland. Apparently, he was the first owner and importer of the car. The car was purchased for our fathers’ hunting trips and for transporting the children to their hobbies. For the first 10 years year it was driven all year-round, after that only in the summer months.
I inherited the car when my father died when I turned 18. After having children in the early 2000s, the car sat idle for a few years because it was impossible to attach the child seats. In the 2010s, the car was sometimes driven all year round, sometimes only in summer. It worked flawlessly as our family 2nd car. In recent years, the car has been in summer use, except last year. 2021 car was driven from February to September.
Back in the day, I dreamed that the car would make it to Vehoniem, as long as I got enough years to fill it up. I noticed that the car drives well, so there’s no point in turning it into a vintage car. I also dreamed that one of my three sons would get excited to drive the Jeep and there would be a real need for it. That didn’t happen either and they ended up buying an Audi.
Over the past few years, I’ve noticed that in the spring, when the car is taken out of the garage, the rust marks have been bigger every year. I don’t want a beautiful car to rust out because we don’t have the chance to fix it right now. Because of this, I am finally ready to give it up. At one time there were 4 of these in Finland, I don’t know the situation at the moment, because imported cars come in different ways, even used ones. At the time we thought Levi’s stickers were glued by the previous owner, but through the internet we found information that the cj7 renegade is also a Levis edition. The seats are not denim like most, but “corduroy”.
The car has been serviced every time it was put into use and every year. The maintenance has mainly been done by Aulangontie wash and maintenance or our car friend Rami Peltonen. The biggest changes have been the fact that the car could be driven on unleaded gasoline when its distribution stopped. Repairs made over the years are listed below:
· Deck repair.
· Bronze bushings for piston guides.
· Intake manifold repair.
· Exhaust manifold repair.
· Ignition repair.
· Radiator repair.
· New rear exhaust.
· New fuel pump.
· New water pump.
Renewing the bottom last year was necessary because it was pointed out at the inspection office. The car has been renewed/ repaired/ maintained as much as was necessary at any time. It has always been stored in the garage, but not always warm.
I hope the car will find a good new home ???? it has been almost like a family member, even if it’s just a car. The car has two tires, but the winter tires are quite bad. There are also 2 keys.
Please know that I will help you in every way possible with the purchase. I have good contacts for shipping the vehicle all over the world. If you would like to come and view the vehicle before purchasing that would be great but if it isn’t possible to come and view, I will do my best to give you as much information and as many photos as you require. I purchase vehicles from foreign countries, so I know exactly the situation you are in.
