Era classics are excited to offer for sale another superbly finished Series 3 in stunning period correct Welsh grey that has just been subject to a full professional nut and bolt restoration by our “go to specialist” who has restored many series 2 & 3 Land Rovers over the last 15 years, this is one of the best out there.
With an eye for detail but keeping and using original parts and specifications where possible, these fully rebuilt Land Rovers have a few modern upgrades and are ready for new owners to enjoy immediately with only annual maintenance to consider.

Starting life in Marine blue this Series 3 was one of the first off the line with a production date of 10/ 09/ 1971 and a very early VIN number 90100333A.
A brief resume of works carried out over the last 6 months:
A new Richards galvanised chassis (with removable gearbox crossmember) has been used and rear crossmember painted in correct satin black finish to resemble as new.
The engine has been professionally rebuilt with hardened valve seats for unleaded and all new bearings/ seals chains and Zenith carb.
The engine runs beautifully quiet and with the rebuilt gearbox and Ashcroft transmission upgrade gives a much improved drivability.
Ashcroft Transmission conversion negates the need for overdrive as gearing is now slightly higher than OD but retains low range as normal.
All running gear / axles/ brakes etc all new. New front swivel balls.
Free wheeling Hubs.
New parabolic springs and upgraded Girling shocks make for a really nice compliant ride.
New exhaust.
Bulkhead has been restored professionally and has the correct ribbed footwells. Box sections waxed with Dinitrol.
Total new Auto Sparks electric system with new loom all to original spec with new Alternator, new lights and electronic ignition for reliability and peace of mind.
Hazard warning switch option fitted.
New deluxe high-back front seats with 3 point seatbelts along with new rear bench seats.
Powder coated wheels with all new Wrangler 7. 5 OR16C all terrain tyres
Tub has had new floor, rear quarter panels, crossmember and wing. 3 Tub struts are all galvanised.
New doors top and bottom and new OE spec door seals and window channels.
The whole body was taken back to bare metal, new panels from Paintman fitted and epoxy primed with 3 coats of 2 pack Welsh Grey paint to a lovely gloss finish.
All panels painted before being fitted up with subframes eg bonnet so the dome rivets are correct aluminium colour not bodged over in paint!
Hand stitched leather dash and steering wheel covers with White stitching.
New Under Covers Canvas Hood in sand colour with side windows.
All galvanised cappings, hood sticks all re-plated as new.

Unverified mileage of 37750 although deemed correct due to the condition of the gearbox and engine condition when spilt apart.
