A recent comment from the owner of Italian specialists, Autosportivo: “This is one of the most original and stunning examples we’ve seen in all the years we have been servicing and recommissioning Coupés”. 1997 Fiat Coupé 20 Valve Turbo. With original Sprint Blue paintwork and unmarked tan leather interior this Coupé is in exceptional condition, and it feels, sounds and drives as if it were new. With just over 36, 000 genuine miles on the clock it has been cherished by three previous owners, one of which was a private collector of Italian cars who stored it for a number of years.
Everything is original apart from a Bluetooth stereo which is in keeping with the original radio. There’s no rust anywhere and the mechanics are top notch. Service records show the essential cam belt change, water pump and thermostat in 2020. It has a new MOT with no advisories, and has brand new tyres. All three keys including the red master and the metal ‘bullet’ key are there together with service records. It doesn’t have a huge folder of bills and receipts because it hasn’t needed any major work - it’s that good!
If you are a Coupé enthusiast you will appreciate the value of this car and will certainly be impressed by its performance. It drives just the way it was meant to. If you have never owned one you will be amazed at the smooth five cylinder engine which comes alive as the turbo kicks in, thrusting the car from 0-60mph in 6. 5 seconds. Top speed of 165mph is obviously un-attainable on public roads, but it’s nice to know the capability and strength of this engine. This is an underestimated design classic and the fastest model Fiat ever made. Built by Pininfarina with Bosch electrics the Coupé is a better quality classic than many other cars of the era. There are no creaks and rattles, there’s little wind noise because of the great aerodynamics, and it doesn’t feel the way you would expect from 25 year old car.
This Coupé is exactly as the photos portray, it’s open to any inspection, and the DVLA MOT history tells it’s own story. The only reason for selling is that a recently acquired ‘as new’ Limited Edition Coupé now takes it’s place in the garage.
Registration plate included in the price or can revert to the original ‘R’ registration to reduce the selling price.
