Mercedes 450SL Automatic (R107) in the stunning light blue with matching blue MB-tex interior. Originally built in 1972 and imported from a warm and dry state of the US into the UK in 2019 (sadly as part of the prior owner's estate), the vehicle has spent the last 3 years garaged with minimal use. The V5 shows 2 owners since arriving in the UK, the first of which was the importer. Now MOT and tax exempt the SL makes for an affordable, yet powerful classic. The odometer shows a very respectable 103, 344miles.
The big 4. 5l V8 starts on the button and delivers a burble sure to put a smile on the face of most. On road test the SL provides ample torque in all of the 3 gears and a rewarding yet comfortable driving experience. Vehicle features appear all to be functioning as intended at the time of test. Whilst minimal history, the engine and drivetrain feel as though regular upkeep has been maintained over the years. The previous owner has only recently had specialist routine maintenance completed on the vehicle to ensure reliable usage.
The 14 inch wheels with colour coded hub caps and white wall tyres, truly set the vehicle's appearance apart from the rest. The bodywork is great, with shut lines and panels gaps as they should be. Being an American import the SL has aged better over the years than a lot of the comparable UK examples, with no signs of rust or corrosion. The paintwork is in general very good with the colour remaining consistent around all corners of the car. The brightwork is in excellent condition and the vehicle comes complete with the colour coded hard top. The interior trim is in excellent condition with no damage and no significant signs of wear throughout. Both the dashboard and steering wheel are also in great condition with only age related wear.
The R107 is fast becoming a much desired classic with soaring values and with it's striking looks that attract glances from afar, now is a great time to own one.
