SUMMARY
Originally supplied by Reliance Mercedes Chingford, this is one of those cars that has lived a very charmed life, and one of the nicest W210 E-Class I've seen in quite some time. It’s had just two previous owners, both who kept it for around 12 years each. Throughout all that time, the car has been regularly garaged, with genuine Mercedes Seat Covers (in identical fabric to the interior) and Boot Liner having been fitted throughout its entire life. There’s no fade to the dash needles, the wood is unmarked and bright, and the seats are as new, and the seats look like they’ve never been used.
The upshot of this incredible level of care and attention is this E240 is in truly immaculate condition, inside, outside and underneath, in fact the underneath is like that of a much, much younger car, this is further helped as the previous owner painted all the suspension components black.
Servicing has been done both regularly and properly as listed above. A service has just been carried out, and I’ve also just replaced both Catalytic Converters as the originals were rattling. Whilst underneath, I also replaced the gear shifter mechanism bushes too, as they’d gone typically brittle, and were breaking up. I also replaced a missing engine undertray, as the previous owner had left it off to make oil changes (done more regular than official services) easier.
I’ve always maintained the W210 E-Class, has the best ride quality of all the “E” series cars, as it retains that supple feeling found on earlier cars, however seems to control its ride better. The car is particularly impressive; it rides and drives like a dream, in fact the magic carpet like ride puts many more expensive and modern prestige cars to shame. On the motorway it’s reassuringly composed, quiet and incredibly smooth, and the miles simply fly by. This is an exceptionally nice vehicle to travel in, and is surprisingly good on fuel too.
In the grand scheme of things the £5K asking price is nothing for a quality car these days, however I do concede you will find cheaper "similar looking" W210 E-Classes on the usual websites, but I doubt you’ll find many better than this. Sure you can restore a car, which is expensive, but all the money in the world can’t put back originality.
THE MTSV DIFFERENCE
Unlike some, I don’t just simply go out, buy any old car, give it a good clean, then advertise it for more than the purchase price, disregarding any issues the car may have in the hope the new buyer won’t notice…I just couldn’t do that. The cars I source are carefully selected and I work very hard so that when my cars leave me, I have the satisfaction of knowing they are as good as they possibly can be within the constraints I have.
