This Opel Speedster is a smart, usable example of the Lotus-designed and derived roadster, which has very low mileage from new.
Its engine is a naturally aspirated mid-mounted 2. 2-litre inline-four, producing around 145bhp, which is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox.
The odometer shows just 13, 807 miles.
First registered with the DVLA in March 2007, this Speedster was initially imported to the UK by established car supermarket motorpoint.
The Opel Speedster (or Vauxhall VX220 as it was sold in the UK) was produced as a collaboration between General Motors and Lotus. A deal was struck between for Lotus to produce the Speedster at its Hethel headquarters, which it duly did. The resulting car is based on a Series 2 Lotus Elise chassis, and is powered by an all-alloy 2. 2-litre Opel engine.
Previously painted grey this example has now been professionally refinished in Calypso Red over a black leather-trimmed interior.
It rides on a set of 17-inch five-spoke alloys shod in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres.
The car will be accompanied by its original owner’s handbooks, a selection of historic MOT test certificates, a service printout from Vauxhall, and two sets of keys and fobs.
A full service will be completed by us on completion of a successful sale.
Time of the year and being out of season for sports cars dictates that this is an exceptionally good value for money example.
