The Mercedes 170S Cabriolet A is the smaller and sportier version produced between 1949-1951. A total of 2, 433 convertible cars were produced over the period.
Exterior: Any vintage Mercedes looks very elegant in black and this 170S Cabriolet A is no exception. It is an older restoration that has held up very well. The black paint is nice and shiny with a few small traces of use over the years. All the chrome parts are excellent and the convertible top looks new. Also, underneath the car looks very healthy with no traces of corrosion to be seen. New white wall tyres and there is also a set without white walls if this is preferred.
Interior: Perhaps the best part of the car is the original interior. I have never seen a 70-year-old leather interior that looks as nice as in this Mercedes 170S Cabriolet A. It is still very nice and soft, and not broken anywhere. Just have a look at that original radio in the centre of the instrument panel! All instruments, wood panels and carpets are in very good condition. Behind the two front seats, there is a small bench for the kids. Or you can fold down the backrest and it will be the perfect place for your suitcase. The convertible top is easy to fold up and down and has a new cover. The soft top is padded keeping the sound level inside the car down.
Engine: The Mercedes 170S Cabriolet A was not used much for the last 4-5 years. It has now been fitted with a new 6v battery and starts and runs just fine, but in need of a service before going back to full duty. The engine was rebuilt in 1997 when the km reading was 63, 915. It has travelled 1, 763 km since! The revision of the engine included.

History: This wonderful W136 Mercedes 170S Cabriolet was sold new here in Sweden back in 1951. It spent most of its life in a small town in the middle of Sweden and the full ownership history is documented. The last owner had the car since 1971 and it was in the family since 1967! This impressive Mercedes comes with a documentation of repairs, inspection documents (TUF), original tools, jack and spare. Without knowing the last owner, you can tell this is a car that has been cherished and loved very much over the years. It is a part of Swedish motor history. And, by the look and feel of the car the total travel today is 65, 700 km. Condition rating is set from the perspective of the age of the car. For a Swedish buyer, it needs one final Technical Inspection.
