Description
Triumph TR3a – UK Car/ Overdrive/ Stunning
The TR3a produced between 1957/ 1962 was equally at home as everyday transport, rally stage car across Europe or on the racetrack at Le Mans. Today original specification UK cars are highly sought after offering utterly engaging motoring with 1950’s style – we love them!
At Milestone Classics we always like to keep a small selection of Triumphs in stock and simply could not resist this stunning wide-mouth TR3a that was manufactured on 2nd November 1960. The factory records confirm that the car was originally despatched to Rossleigh Limited (Scotland) as a UK spec car. The history folder indicates that the car was recommissioned during the late 1980’s and today she is an outstanding example of the marque.
The car came to us from a retired engineer who had owned the TR3 for just over 10 years. During this time, he has invested a significant amount of time, knowledge, and finance to create an utterly reliable car that looks stunning and could be driven anywhere with complete confidence.

Structurally the TR is outstanding, the red interior/ white paint is a stunning combination. I drove the car over 50 miles back from Hampshire and there were none of the rattles/ shakes so often associated with restored cars and the panel fit is outstanding.
On the road the car is utterly engaging with lots of low-down torque and an exhaust note that demands you double-declutch on every down change.
The large history file goes back to the late eighties and contains lots (and lots) of invoices, registration documents, summary of UK owners MOT’s, books etc.
From the golden age of post war motoring the car drives as good as she looks and unlike many cars from this period is easy to enter/ exit even with the hood up. The overdrive option means the TR copes brilliantly with modern traffic, steering/ brakes are excellent, and the exhaust note is simply addictive.
Ready for new adventures she will provide her new keeper with lots of pleasure, big smiles & make happy memories for many years to come.
One I would like to keep for me.
