Austin Cooper MK1 with 970 Cooper S engine
O-AGN-253 is a RHD Austin Cooper 998. Built 12 May 1966 and dispatched 14 May 1966 to the dealership Car Mart Limited, Welsh Harp in London. First registration dates from 6 June 1966. It left the factory Tweed Grey with an Old English White roof. The last test certificate I’m holding is from 1978 with a mileage of 68005.
I bought the car in 2020 as a small project, but it turned out to a full restoration.
The whole restoration is well documented with pictures, invoices of the work that has been done and so on.
Because my original intention was to keep the car for myself, I built the car with eye for detail and perfection.
Engine wise , I went to look for an engine that would give me more fun to drive the car. I was the lucky one to find a very rare 970s engine block, one of the 963 engine blocks ever made of that type.
