We have a very early mk2 Mazda MX5 1. 8i that has had just 1 owner from new.
It was originally supplied by Warrington Mazda on 30/ 04/ 1998 to its one lady owner who has kept the car until very recently. It has a full book pack, 2 keys, 12 service stamps and an extensive history file full of receipts and invoices. It is HPI clear, totally unmodified and has an MOT to November 1st of this year.
It drives superbly and exactly how it should do. However as can be seen from the photos it is now in need of restorative work to the body and interior. The interior would require either replacement or re upholstering of the drivers seat and the original hood is now in need of replacement. The drivers window regulator also needs replacing or fixing. The major issue is the rear wheel arches are virtually non existent and new sections would need to be welded in and painted.
I am offering this car as is. It would be a great project to restore and upgrade (mohair hood, Nardi steering wheel and a limited slip diff??) or simply to turn into a track day or drift car.
The specification includes power steering, heated rear screen and electric windows. The original radio cassette is still present along with its supplying dealer number plates.
