Very interesting machine with six gears, one being an extra super low first operated with a separate lever on the clutch.
This Honda CL250S is a very rare UK from new bike, I have been told that it was never originally intended to be sold in the UK but only mainland Europe. Also I believe only 100 were sold in the UK. It was sold on 11/ 12/ 1982 and the original hand written sales invoice is in the papers along with most previous V5 documents.
It is mot'd until later this month and has done very little mileage since the last one, I will put a new MOT on it at the asking price if desired.
It has the original Owners Manual in the pack with velcro to attach to the bike and a sales advertisement sheet with it. Only 6 keepers which is not many for a 40 year old machine.
Also it wears the original registration plate which is a nice plate and of some value, but I did not want to split it.
The machine is absolutely lovely all round, I have never made my mind up in my time with it whether it has been restored or not, if restored it is a very original look and a good time ago, not that bling trailer look! It may well be unrestored and simply a lovely bike.
It has correct parts including the DID alloy rims, chrome upswept exhaust and engine protector plate underneath.
The miles register as only 15, 000 and I see no reason not to believe it but there is not enough history to be certain although an mot in 2000 shows 13000.
It starts well on the electric starter and rides spot on and is smooth with really good brakes and a more sensible drum for a bike that could get muddy/ wet.
It really is super tidy and ready to use and enjoy, other than going mad with polishing further to brighten even more if that is your thing it wants for nothing it seems. I feel it is a great value machine when compared to scruffy import project bikes offered.
