Vauxhall Vectra 2. 2 SRi 150. Registered December 2000.
I bought this car as a project last December. The following work has been carried out over the last 6 months:
Fitted new Bosch Battery
Full Service with NGK Spark Plugs, Bosch Air Filter and Bosch Oil Filter
New Brembo Brake Discs and Pads on front
New cabin filter
New Heater Motor - the heater wasn't working when I bought it, this has now been replaced.
New Oil Filter Housing cap
New Tailgate Struts (the correct ones that support the heavier weight of the tailgate with the Irmscher SRi spoiler attached)
New near side front coil spring, tie rod end and anti-roll bar link
New bulbs all round
New fog light switches
Some interior trim panels replaced as were either damaged or missing
Full new set of tyres fitted on 20/ 05/ 23
A lot of time and effort (and money!) has gone into bringing this car back from a poor state and it is now fit and ready for it’s next adventure.
The interior is in very good condition, with only the usual wear to the drivers seat bolster and some wear to the gear lever gaiter. The Recaro front seats with extendable squabs are present and trimmed in the facelift grey and black checked material with black half leather. The original factory cd player is present and works. The switches and levers are all correct and work as they should. The dashboard display panel has no missing pixels.
On the road, the car drives incredibly well and pulls strongly. The 2. 2 fuel injected engine is powerful but refined, with the gearbox and clutch working properly to extract the performance from the engine. The exhaust note from the Irmscher exhaust sounds suitably sporty. The car rides and handles well with no issues.
MOT until May 2024 – the oil leak advisory is incorrect, the old oil filter housing cap ruptured and led to oil spraying over the engine bay. This has now been cleaned up.
This is an opportunity to buy a great, rare modern classic in time for the summer car shows. I took the car to the Festival of the Unexceptional over in Lincolnshire on Saturday 29th July and it completed the 300 mile round trip with absolutely no issues and performed well. It also got a lot of interest as it was shown as a classic car, and is featured on the Vauxhall enthusiasts YouTube channel Once Driven Forever Smitten video from the event.
Future classic with low mileage and ownership history. There are a number of spare parts and a Haynes manual that will be included with the car at the asking price of £2795 ono.
I bought this as a project to work on with my neighbour last December. It appealed to us as Vectras used to be common sight on the roads but have all but disappeared now. Being a 2. 2 SRi 150 made it all the rarer, and we thought it looked great in its metallic black paintwork.
It was our intention to rescue the car and get it back into a good state, which we have done. Lots of jobs have been carried out, using new parts where we have been able such as Brembo Brake Discs and Pads. We wanted to get it back to feeling good and fun to drive, and today it is.
